Your plan, your credits, and how to change them

This page shows which plan your company is on, how many task credits you've used this month, and lets a company admin upgrade, downgrade or cancel. Changes to a paid plan always respect what you've already paid for: a downgrade or cancellation only takes effect when your current paid period ends.

What this page shows

Your current plan, its status, and how many of this month's task credits you've used. Below that is a card for every plan so you can compare them. Only company admins (and spriteCloud staff) can see or change the subscription; everyone else in your company just sees the plan reflected in what they're allowed to do.

  • Status: Active, Payment failed (update your card), or Active until a date when a cancellation or downgrade is scheduled
  • Task credits reset every month. You get a heads-up in the bell when you pass 80%, and no new explore runs start once they're used up, until the reset
  • The Annual toggle shows each plan's annual option where one exists

The plans

Every plan builds on the one before it. Prices are shown on the plan cards in the app, so this guide sticks to what each plan gives you.

  • Free: 1 project, a small monthly credit pool, Quick explore depth, no scheduling, no retesting and no Test scenarios page. A good way to try Quail on one app
  • Standard: up to 5 projects, more credits, adds Balanced depth, weekly and monthly scheduling, retesting and a first set of Test scenarios
  • Pro: unlimited projects, a much bigger credit pool, adds Thorough depth, daily scheduling, more Test scenarios and every explore type
  • Enterprise: unlimited credits, Max depth and the highest scenario limit. Arranged with spriteCloud, use Contact us
  • Credits are a pool, not a run count: deeper explore runs cost more credits, so the same pool buys fewer thorough runs than quick ones

Upgrading

Pick a higher plan and confirm. If you're on Free you go through a Stripe checkout to add a card. If you already pay for a plan you're switched inside your existing subscription, so you never end up paying for two plans at once.

  • The new plan applies immediately, with all its limits
  • Stripe credits the unused part of your current plan against the new one, so you only pay the difference for the rest of the billing period. It's a credit on your invoice, not a refund to your card
  • You see the exact amount on Stripe's confirmation page before anything is charged
  • A plan with no online checkout shows Request upgrade instead, and Enterprise shows Contact us. Both open a message to spriteCloud

Downgrading

Choosing a cheaper plan doesn't cut you off early. You keep your current plan, and everything it includes, until the end of the period you've already paid for. Then the company moves to the cheaper plan automatically.

  • Until then the page shows "Switching to <plan> on <date>" with the days left. Use Manage billing to change your mind
  • When the switch happens, any project setting above the new plan's limits is lowered automatically, for example a daily schedule becomes weekly. The downgrade confirmation lists what will change
  • Nothing is refunded for the remaining time, you simply keep using it

Cancelling

Cancelling (choosing Free, or cancelling in Stripe) works the same way: your paid plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, then the company moves to Free.

  • Until then the page shows "Active until <date>" and a banner with a Keep my plan button that undoes the cancellation
  • After the date the company is on Free and project settings above Free's limits are lowered automatically
  • Your projects and data are never deleted by a plan change. Things above the new limits are just switched down or locked

Cancelled one plan, then bought another

Because a cancelled plan stays active until its paid period ends, you can end up with two at once, for example a cancelled Standard and a newly bought Pro. That's fine: the highest plan applies, and the page shows that one with its end date.

  • When the higher plan ends, the lower one takes over until its own end date, then Free
  • Switching plans keeps your billing period: a monthly subscription stays monthly and an annual one stays annual. To change between monthly and annual, use Manage billing or contact spriteCloud

"Managed by spriteCloud"

Instead of plan cards you may see only your current plan and a Request a plan change button. That means there's nothing you can change yourself online, and a spriteCloud person handles plan changes for your company.

  • You see it when spriteCloud manages your plan directly (for example a pilot, an invoice-based or custom agreement)
  • You also see it when online payments aren't set up for this installation
  • If you also still have an active Stripe subscription, the page says so and offers Cancel subscription. It keeps billing until you cancel it, and cancelling doesn't change the plan spriteCloud set for you
  • Request a plan change opens spriteCloud's contact page. Say which company and which plan you want
  • While spriteCloud manages your plan, billing changes in Stripe (renewals, cancellations) don't alter it. spriteCloud arranges any change with you
  • If spriteCloud switches your company back to Stripe billing, the normal plans and Upgrade buttons return, with the plan Stripe has for you (Free if you have no subscription)

Billing, invoices and payment problems

Manage billing opens Stripe's secure billing page, where you can update your card, download invoices, change billing details, or cancel.

  • Payment failed: the page shows a warning and an Update payment button. You keep full access while Stripe retries, but fix the card to avoid an interruption
  • After paying or changing a plan the page can take a few seconds to catch up. It updates itself, or refresh if it doesn't
  • Plan changes also send a notification to company admins (the bell, and email if enabled)
  • Invoices are issued by Stripe in the company's billing details, so enter your company name and VAT details there
